Los Angeles Lakers
Last season, the Lakers were beset by injuries, with both LeBron James and Anthony Davis missing considerable time. Injuries were ultimately their doom, but shooting didn’t help either. Instead of dealing with their shooting problems, the Lakers acquired a slew of veterans, including star point guard Russell Westbrook, in a big trade with the Washington Wizards. Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Kendrick Nunn, Malik Monk, Wayne Ellington, and Trevor Ariza were all signed this off-season after the Lakers’ roster was completely overhauled. Dwight Howard, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis should be the frontcourt starters for the Los Angeles Lakers. Russell Westbrook and Wayne Ellington should be in the backcourt. Depending on how various lineups perform throughout the year, this could change.
LeBron James #6
Anthony Davis #3
Austin Reaves #15
D ‘Angelo Russell #1
Dennis Schroder #17
JaVale McGee, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Danny Green, and Avery Bradley are the starters for the Lakers. Davis and James are the only two starters who have averaged more over 30 minutes per game, but they will be moved to the bench to divide minutes with the other starters.
LeBron James, JaVale McGee, Danny Green, Anthony Davis, and Avery Bradley have been the Lakers’ finest starting five this season. They’ve got a 12.6 net rating and a 114 offensive rating. This has also been one of their finest defensive units.
The Lakers’ worst starter has been Avery Bradley. He has a player efficiency rating of 14th out of 17 and a true shooting percentage of 9th on the team. Bradley’s win share is likewise only 1.6.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ starting point guard for the 2019-20 season is LeBron James. James has spent more than half of his time at point guard. He played point guard for the first time in his rookie season, although only for 14 percent of the time.
The Lakers had some significant role players around them during their dynasty years, with Shaq and Kobe as their original starters. The other three starters were Horace Grant, Rick Fox, and Ron Harper. Shaq and Kobe, on the other hand, were the stars of the show.
