The addition of Russell Westbrook to the Lakers, who were already considered favorites to win the Western Conference, transformed the perception of the team. The Lakers may have lost two terrific players in Dennis Schroder and Alex Caruso, but they added a lot of solid players in Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk, Dwight Howard, and Kendrick Nunn this offseason. Mac McClung, Austin Reaves, and Joel Ayayi were all drafted by the Lakers, and they could provide a good break for veterans like Wesley Matthews and Marc Gasol.
