Lakers vs. Warriors: The Two teams who have recently struggled to win

Lakers vs. Warriors: Both teams are struggling for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. And I’m hoping to make the other person’s pain worse on Saturday night when the Golden State Warriors visit the Los Angeles Lakers.

For the first time this season, the Golden State Warriors have lost three consecutive games. When they meet for the third time this season, the Lakers are also on a four-game losing streak. The odds of the California rivals facing off in the playoffs are dwindling by the day, with the Warriors nearly out of sight of first-place Phoenix, while the Lakers appear destined for the play-in tournament and, at best, a first-round matchup with the top seed.

Draymond Green

Draymond Green, the team’s defensive ace, is still sidelined. Only two of the Warriors’ last nine games have ended in victories. One of those came against the Lakers on February 12 at home, a 117-115 victory that ended with LeBron James missing one of three free throws with two seconds left. Also, a missed opportunity to tie the game. On February 24, the Warriors also won in Portland. The Lakers bounced back to defeat the Utah Jazz in their next playoff. Green made a cameo appearance in the game for seven seconds. In the last 26 games, Klay Thompson made his season debut. The Warriors were 29-8 until Green’s back disc injury caused leg pain. Since surrendering 110 points or more 14 times, he is just 14-12.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have beaten them 129-114. On the first two stops of a four-game journey, the Dallas Mavericks beat them 122-113. James Wiseman has also attended to make the aim of making his season debut.  That might happen as soon as Saturday, but Green, along with the rest of the team, is unlikely to play for at least another two weeks.

Andre Iguodala said, “When Draymond is out there, it just makes everyone’s job easier.” Another Warriors defensive ace is currently on the bench due to a sore back. “He’s all over the floor: defending 1-5, getting charges, blocking shots, every steal, everything.”

Lakers vs. Warriors: LeBron James

LeBron James should be relieved to see Draymond Green on the bench. He played the 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year in a one-on-one match. Also, in four consecutive NBA Finals duels from 2015 to 2018. With 34 points and 11 rebounds, James overcame the Green challenge. When the Lakers were defeated 121-114 by the Warriors in their home opener, In Green’s absence, he had 26 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists in the rematch last month. In 26 of his 27 games, James has scored 25 points or more. However, the Lakers have now lost four consecutive games in Los Angeles. Even though the Clippers were technically the visiting team, they’re thrashed 132-111 on Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers are now competing for the remaining two slots. On Western Conference play-in tournament against the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, and San Antonio Spurs. With 20 games left, they aren’t where they intend to be. But Russell Westbrook, the team’s struggling guard, insists he will play until the last horn sounds.

After a 17-point performance against the Clippers, Russell Westbrook stated, “I’m not a quitter; it’s not in my blood.” “I don’t care what is going on. I’m a fighter to the end, and if it doesn’t work, that’s fine. Also, I can live with the outcomes, but I’m never going to give up or give in. Because of a small problem that happens this time of year.”
