United Arab Emirates, ABU DHABI: Even though Luka Doncic scored 25 points, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Dallas Mavericks 111-99 in the first NBA preseason game in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Dallas had a terrible start. In the first quarter, they gave up 37 points.

Even though the Mavs scored more points than their opponents in the next three quarters, they couldn’t make the difference.
Dallas didn’t make the NBA playoffs last year, even though Slovenian star Doncic scored a career-high 32.4 points per game.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored the most points for Minnesota with 20. However, the Denver Nuggets beat them in five games in the first round of the 2023 playoffs and went on to win the championship.
