Detroit Pistons

Detroit selected Cade Cunningham first overall in this year’s draft. Detroit’s culture hasn’t been stable since the mid-2000s. Cade, a 6-foot-8 point guard, will try to change Detroit’s culture. Last year, Jerami Grant finished second behind apparent first-choice Julius Randle for the KIA Most Improved Player award. The Pistons have a couple of factors working in their favor. However, it will be some years before they are competitive again. Saddiq Bey, Killian Hayes, Josh Jackson, Cory Joseph, and Kelly Olynyk will appear with Cunningham and Grant. Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, Jerami Grant, Killian Hayes, and Kelly Olynyk should be in the starting lineup.

Detroit Pistons Starting Lineup Analysis

Detroit is still looking for younger guys to develop around, and they may have discovered their future core in Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, and Hayes. Hayes, along with youngster Cade Cunningham, has a lot of potential at guard. Detroit’s current roster is dominated by youthful players, with Jerami Grant, the team’s youngest starter, still just 27 years old.

Their bench is still rather small and does not suit the exact mold that the Pistons require; however, this will change in time. For the time being, Grant and Cunningham should be the stars around whom the team will be built, and it will be intriguing to see whether they can maintain relevance in a tough Eastern Conference over the next few years.
