Anthony Davis and the Lakers agree to a max contract worth $186 million

The Lakers have been busy this summer adding new players, and now one of their most important players, Anthony Davis, is staying with the team for even longer.

Multiple sources say that Anthony Davis and the Lakers have agreed to a three-year, $186 million max contract.

The deal would keep Anthony Davis under contract until 2028 and has the largest annual extension in NBA history, at $62 million per season.

Anthony Davis played a crucial role for the Los Angeles Lakers in the previous season, scoring an impressive 25.9 points and grabbing 12.5 rebounds per game. Despite their efforts, the Lakers were defeated by the Denver Nuggets in four games during the Western Conference Finals. The Nuggets eventually emerged as the NBA champions.

Los Angeles has made a number of deals this offseason. D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura have all signed new contracts, and the team has added a lot of new players to its supporting group. LeBron James also said he was coming back for his 21st season in the NBA.
